HELP SAVE DIDCOT
RAILWAY CENTRE
|
Pinewood Miniature Railway Society Limited
has been operating since 1984 when the society was officially formed and
is run entirely by volunteer members.
Our railway consists of 5" and 7 1/4" dual gauge ground
level track that runs for nearly half a mile through delightful Berkshire
woodland.
The railway is situated in the Pinewood Leisure Centre between Wokingham and
Crowthorne in Berkshire. |
 |
|

|
The
railway is open to the public for rides from 1:30pm to 4:30pm on the third Sunday of every month from
Easter to October, typically a number of locomotives are in service
including steam, diesel and electric.
For a comprehensive list of running days and other events happening at the
railway click here. |
We
also run children's Birthday Parties, Santa Specials at Christmas and
other local events such as fetes, where trains run on our portable track.
Pinewood Railway members are real enthusiasts and we are keen to welcome
new members who want to join in, whether engine owners or not. |

Great
Western Society
No.10
Petition to Save Didcot
'A petition has been raised in the Prime Minister's official 10 Downing
Street website, calling for the opposition to the threatened closure of
Didcot Railway
Centre. The headquarters of the Great Western Society is under threat
following
Network Rail's refusal to renew the tenancy of the land.
The petition says the knock-on effect of the closure would devastate the
local economy
and result in job losses. It says a rethink must be forced on NR.
Those wishing to sign the petition should go to:
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Save-the-GWS.'
